As I said in a previous post, it’s easy to lose focus on God and slowly drift away from Him. This can be caused by rebellion, fed up with striving to be good, getting sucked into some sin which finishes your relationship with Him or just apathy. All these things are sent to try us and as long as we remember that He chose us and knew what He was taking on then repentence is acceptable and will restore our link to Him. The longer you stay away the colder you get, just like a coal falling out of the fire, so say sorry, stop what you are doing and get back on His path.
You’re finding life is humdrum
You’re finding church a bore
The thrill you got from serving Him
Is sadly there no more
You’re going through the motions
The words you do not mean
You might as well just disappear
As though you’d never been.
Maybe you are holding back
From giving all you’ve got
To He who knows you inside out
Who’s loved you from year dot
You’re sitting on a flaky fence
The splinters cause you pain
When are you going to clamber back
Upon His road again.
