It’s true, the name of Jesus has power to help us in times of need. We all tend to wander off the path now and then and sometimes it’s quite nice where we have landed. Something tugs at us, refusing to let us go and we know that where we are isn’t right. If you have been on a journey with darkness then you have the chance to get back on the right road again. Say sorry and break the chains that bind.
At the name of Jesus
Every knee should bow
Whether in the future
Maybe in the now
Everything that’s causing you
Depression, sadness, pain
The name of Jesus is the one
That puts things right again.
So when things get quite sticky
The devil has a go
Reducing you to where he wants
Somewhere down below
Remember there’s an answer
Call upon His name
At the name of Jesus
You can relight the flame.

“It’s true, the name of Jesus has power to help us in times of need.”
How do you know it’s Jesus? Why not “Atlas” or “Zeus” or “Buddah” etc? They all predate “Jesus” by a couple of millenia or more and were deities that were taken serious in their day. Why don’t they qualify?
“We all tend to wander off the path now and then and sometimes it’s quite nice where we have landed.”
And what about people who don’t/never had “Jesus” (or any other deity) in their lives who have NEVER wandered-of-the-path? It’s praising people relentlessly who quit smoking, but the people who had enough sense to never smoke never get recognition.
“Something tugs at us, refusing to let us go and we know that where we are isn’t right. If you have been on a journey with darkness then you have the chance to get back on the right road again. Say sorry and break the chains that bind.”
That’s a matter of perspective. Again, how do you classify those people who have never prayed, never stepped foot in a church, never accepted a deity, etc., while at the same time have never had a substance abuse, never committed a crime, never hurt anybody, has an established career, is respected by their peers, does volunteer work, is an excellent parent?
